Security forces in the western part of Nigeria have evacuated worshippers from churches as part of measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Abeokuta and Lagos have been patrolled by the Police and members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) on Sunday to stop mass gatherings.
Lagos and other states in the country recently announced bans on large gatherings ,clubs,wedding parties – even in religious worship centers to curb the spread of COVID-19.
There are currently 30 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Nigeria, since feb 27 when the first case emerged in Lagos.
The virus (COVID-19) emerged in Wuhan, China last December and has spread to at least 167 countries and regions, following a report from the data compiled by U.S.-based Johns Hopkins University.
